How to run PUBG Mobile on PC

2021

The Battle Royale genre exploded last year shortly after the public beta launch of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, better known as PUBG on PC. The success of this game has allowed many other developers to release their own Battle Royale games, each with its own unique tweak in terms of gameplay. Things got much better when this game was moved to mobile devices, and the free-to-play model played a big part in making the game more widespread. PUBG Mobile is currently ranked as the best champion with over 100,000 downloads in the Google Play store alone. Now many people agree that playing shooting games of any kind on a touch screen is not intuitive and is not as satisfying as using a mouse and keyboard. However, given the fact that everyone is not willing to pay PUBG on a PC or has a PC that is powerful enough to run the game, there aren't many options, or it would seem that way. If you're wondering how to get the most out of the two worlds, here's how to play PUBG Mobile on your PC.

Play PUBG Mobile on your Windows PC.

Before we start our step-by-step tutorial, let's first look at one thing. PUBG Mobile does not run natively on Windows PCs and requires an Android emulator. There are quite a few Android emulators for Windows PCs, but they are not capable of running PUBG Mobile. There are some performance issues and others do not support exact key mapping. Thankfully, the Tencent Games developers have released Tencent Gaming Buddy (download), their own emulator that runs PUBG Mobile on Windows PCs without a hitch. Here, we'll look at how to set up a Tencent Gaming Buddy emulator on your PC and highlight the optimal settings you should use to keep your game running smoothly.

How to set up Tencent gaming friends

Tencent Gaming Buddy is claimed to be the best emulator for PUBG Mobile, and it is relatively simple to use. To get started, you need to download the settings file from this link and install the emulator on your Windows PC.

The installation process

The installation process is simple and straightforward. When you run the .exe file, the installation wizard guides you through the process. The installation executable will first install the emulator on your system and then proceed to download PUBG Mobile.

Adjust emulator settings for best performance

Until you download the game, the default settings don't give you the best performance, so you can set up the emulator to ensure optimal performance from your system. To do so, click on the hamburger menu in the top right corner of the emulator home screen and tap on the'Settings' option.

To ensure the best performance in the settings options, you need to make the following changes:

In the'Basics' tab of the Setup Center, you don't need to make any major changes to improve performance, but you can choose whether to run the emulator at Windows startup. This option is on by default, and if you are using an old PC or don't have a bootable SSD, it is recommended to turn it off so that the emulator has no effect on startup/reboot times. Your PC.

You need to turn on the'Dedicated GPU Priority' setting in the'Engine' tab so that the emulator uses the system's dedicated GPU to significantly improve performance. If you don't have a dedicated GPU, turning on the setting will have no effect on performance.

Select the highest available memory setting from the'Memory' drop-down menu, select the maximum number of cores available from the'Processor' drop-down menu, then set the resolution according to your personal preferences.

In my tests I also found that choosing the lowest possible DPI from the'DPI' drop-down menu has a positive effect on performance. After you have finished changing settings, you will need to restart the emulator for the settings to take effect, but you will need to restart after the download is complete, and you may have to download the game from scratch.

Adjust in-game settings for best performance

Now that you have downloaded the game and have already applied the optimal settings, you can run the game. When you first start the game, you'll see a control panel on the right side of the emulator, listing your keyboard and mouse controls to play the game. Most PC gamers are familiar with the controls, but if you've never played a shooting game on your PC before, it's a good idea to take a look at the controls and memorize them as you can. The panel can be easily hidden when not in use.

Now, if you don't want to log into your account, you can log in to your Twitter or Facebook account to sync your PUBG Mobile data or play as a guest. When you log in with the same credentials you used on your phone, all your PUBG Mobile account data will be passed to the emulator and your stats will stay in sync no matter which platform you play the game on.

Logged-in users can customize in-game settings to suit the system's capabilities based on their preferences. My system has an Intel Core i7-7700HQ combined with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti and 16GB of RAM, with the following settings:

With this setup the game runs somewhat well on my system, there may be some flaws and lags here and there. You can expect it because you run the game on the emulator. Don't expect the game to run like it runs on a high-end smartphone. The same is true if you use your PC with high-end hardware. The Tencent Gaming Buddy emulator is still in beta, so it has its own problems.

You can also change the controls to your liking by clicking the'Customize' button at the bottom left of the'Controls' tab in the in-game settings menu.

Another thing to tweak before playing any game is sensitivity. In my experience, the default sensitivity setting is too sensitive to my liking, so I lowered the camera panning, ADS, and range sensitivity to make it more manageable.
